Vegetable Growing Guide

Here you'll find specific growing information for a wide range of vegetables and even some fruits and grains. Click on a crop rotation category title to learn more about planting, maintaining and harvesting the specific vegetables in that category (specific information is given for each vegetable). Vegetables are listed by crop rotation category (leaf, fruit, root, legume, Solanaceae, other, perennial) for your convenience. Vegetables in the "perennial" category are those that will continue to grow longer than one season and therefore cannot be included in the crop rotation and must be planted in a permanent or semi-permanent location. Members of the Solanaceae family/category are planted separately (in containers or in another area in the yard) from the rest of the rotation because of the effects they have on the soil.
